Futile remedies
Stakeholders like parents or other contact persons who tried to steer young people away from the path of radicalisation and tried prevent other harm to them have often failed. Often these are intuitive efforts out of which the inevitability of their failure is apparent, as is what can be learnt from this. It would also be desirable if awareness were promoted in society as a whole about what can be done when a person is radicalising themselves and what cannot – and how one should behave in order to contribute to a solution.
