Experience of violence/ humiliation
Young people, who live lifestyles of extremism, hate and violence, have usually experiened hate and/or humiliation or neglect respectively in their own lives. Whether these are of physical or psycholoigical nature is usually of subordinate importance. It has been shown that these early experiences have a direct psychodynamic relation to the later path into violent extremism (cf. F.Sutterlüty). Thus the recently developing research about methods of intervention/prevention and rehabilitation (cf. H.Weilnböck et al) have shown that these experiences of own victimisation need to be included in corresponding procedures.
Below are narrative passages that deal with the biographies of former extremist persons and that show how experiences of violence, humiliation and neglect are a defining influence on their later paths into extremism.
